Soil Health & Management
We practice regenerative agriculture techniques that build soil health naturally. Through crop rotation, cover cropping, and careful nutrient management, we maintain fertile soils that have supported our family for eight generations.
Water Resource Protection
Our farm implements comprehensive water conservation practices including buffer strips, proper manure management, and strategic field drainage to protect local waterways and ensure clean water for our community.
Nutrient Recycling
We maximize the natural cycle of nutrients on our farm by carefully managing manure application. This reduces waste while naturally fertilizing our fields for healthier crops and pastures.
Great Plains No-Till grain drill purchased in 2023 allowing us to seed cover crops (such as winter wheat) after corn is harvested without doing any tillage in between. Saves us time, fuel and keeps the soil where it belongs.
No-Till capable corn planter purchased in 2020. Similar to the grain drill, no till corn planting saves us time, fuel and the potential for erosion/soil loss.
1.8 million gallon manure pit constructed in 2023 allows us to store manure while no crops are growing, and apply the manure when it is needed.
We work closely with local conservation groups and agricultural extension services to share knowledge and implement best practices that benefit our entire region's environmental health.
